“Community communication is very important in keeping our city safe,” commented Ocean City Police Chief Bernadette A. DiPino. “Our duty as police officers is not limited to patrolling your streets but also to finding proactive ways to keep you informed.”
The community outreach program is a quick and cost effective way to reach citizens with time sensitive messages and important crime prevention tips. “The Ocean City Police Department believes in the philosophy of Community Policing,” continued DiPino. “Community policing is the idea that we are here to not only serve and protect our citizens from crime, but we are here to provide the public with information that will allow them to prevent themselves from being a victim of a crime.”
The OCPD’s pro-active community based information initiatives are the best form of crime prevention by keeping citizens well informed of illegal activities in their community.
